... can you believe that I didn't have a pin cushion? Something I've wanted to put right for sometime. I love these ones from namolio mine's a bit more basic!!!
I blanket stitched round a circle (not my best stitching and I couldn't find my pink floss) and then basically crocheted a small hat shape which I crocheted onto the blanket stitch (of course the number of stitches weren't the same on each so I had to do a bit of tinkering). The first crochet thing I've made without a pattern so quite pleased with myself.

Thats really lovely Fay, well done! I have two pin cushions, a patchwork apple one I got for christmas last year and my faithful patchwork crosstitch one that I made about 10 years ago. Amazing how often I use it too!
Moooosst Pretty! I like the nice yellow stitching - it looks fresh and interesting. Perhaps it's a good thing that your pink embroidery thread was missing!
I also didn't have a pincushion. I was using a circle of foam packing - that soft stuff they put in the top of bottles of vitamins etc. I bought myself one from an online seller - it looked a nice orange in the photo. It was not nice. It is glow-in-the-dark fluorescent orange. So much so, that it is languishing on the top shelf of my cupboard. I can't bear to use it - it makes my eyes ache. So, we're back to the tablet-bottle foam thing... I really should make myself one. It's not as if I don't know how!
Love your version, Fay. It's a great little item and so useful. Maybe it will encourage me to be less lazy and come up with something for myself!
