I scrapped my day!

So I did remember to take photos as per Shimelle's instructions below! And here's the final LO. Shimelle offered a sketch in oe of the prompts, so I've stuck with that and I'm quite pleased with the results. There is a stack of 6 photos on the top right hand side, so 15 photos in total.

I also finished this LO today - it's for a challenge that my UKS team are holding on UKS in June, and we've each prepared a sample. I won't say what the challenge criteria is in case anyone is looking! I think I might mat the title to make it stand out more. Also, the photo's not so dark in real life. I got the idea for the cut out under the photo from the Sassafras Lass website.

One More Day ...

Well it's the 25th tomorrow, so that means the start of Scrap Your Day. My album is ready and I've got April's page done. I'm steadily decorating all the month's page so that all have to do is add the pictures. There's a real buzz over on UKS, it's going to be a great year long challenge.

My Town

I made this minibook a couple of weeks back, but have only just managed to get the photos together and do the journaling on it. It's for the No Place Like Home Class. I've used elements of Making Memories 5th Avenue range and I'm really pleased with how the colours have turned out.

This LO was done for the Weekly Challenge on UKS which in the main was to use a sketch. I haven't scrapped many of the girls baby photos and thought I'd start with one for each of their birthday - can you see how see's looking at that cake!!

H is for hair ...

I'm trying to catch up with the girl's A-Z journals. I've been doing really well and somehow managed to just fall behind. So I've done H (as I had the photos to hand) and need to go back and do G, before the I prompt appears! The journaling is hidden behind the squares and comments on how different their hair is to each others.

Scrap Your Day

As promised, here are a couple of Los I've done. I cut the titles for both with my new software on the Cricut.Mr. Postie bought me two lovely parcels today - firstly April Scarlet Lime kit, which is just sooo gorgeous, and secondly the Creating Keepsakes Kit of The Month, which is fab also. With all paper acquisition recently, I really need to get on and use it up - which brings me on to .....

Scrap Your Day - you know how I love new projects, well Shimelle and UKScrappers are starting a monthly one where you 'scrap your day'. It starts by making an album to keep 12 LOs in and then a prompt on 25th of each month. So that will make a slight dent in my stash!

Some shopping and some photos ..

I know I'm a bit late posting, but I thought I'd share with you what I bought at the Big Stamping & Scrapbooking Show last week. I only had a few things on my shopping list, particularly some paints and come home with some stamps, Sassafralass paper and other bits & pieces. I did a couple of workshops (and got some fab Banana Frog freebie stamps) and met up with a couple of my teamies - Steph & Karen and some other UKS friends - Laura, Rachel & Leanne.

I've since bought some more Sassafralass paper, so need to find some photos to scrap.

Thought I'd also share with you my photos for Module 2 of PwL, which was all about texture. I've had some good feedback on them, so chuffed with that. I had a story behind the photos which was 'What I did before I discovered Scrapbooking'.

I have done a couple of LOs this week which I'll try and upload tomorrow.

Mojo's back!

Nothing like a scrapbooking purchase to get the mojo going again! For Xmas DH bought me a Cricut Expression, which is a cutting machine that runs off cartridges, so you can cut out letters, number, shapes etc. It's been very useful but limited in the selection of fonts unless you buy more cartridges which are expensive. But the other day I came across a thread on UKS talking about 'Sure Cuts A Lot' software, which means by connecting the Cricut (which mine is called Jimmy by the way) to the PC you can cut out any TrueType font you have installed. I ummed and aahed for a few days and finally purchased it yesterday. Well, I'm thrilled and set about doing this LO straight away.

Burgh Island is were I got married in South Devon. It's an amazing hotel, and we were fortunate to take over the whole hotel for the weekend. Agatha Christie based some of her novels here and 'Evil Under the Sun' was filmed at the hotel.

The font is Andes & I've used more MM 5th Avenue paper.

A bit of cutting, sticking, stamping & writing

Yesterday I was itching to make something, I sorted through some old photos, had lots of pretty paper, but just couldn't get the inspiration to put the two together. None of my current projects were inspiring me either. The I remembered I hadn't done any new LOs for my 'My Little World' album that I started on a Shimelle Workshop last Novemeber. As the design theme runs the same throughout the album I could quickly do 2 LOs and satisfy my creative needs!
You could tell both DDs had gone back to school this week as I managed to do the UKS Weekly Challenge on the day it was issued. I wanted to scrap the snowy pictures I had taken on Sunday, so it was another quick LO for me.

Off to find my mojo again!

Monday 7 April 2008

3 days in a row ..

and I'm blogging again! Firstly a couple more PwL photos to share - I gave up on the girls and found subjects that didn't move!

Also another LO for No Place Like Home - a scraplift from Shimelle. The prompt for to scrap your favourite room, which for me is the family room aka my craft room! The journaling reads "I can play with ribbon all day long if I want too!"

Sunday 6 April 2008

We've had Snow!

Can't quite believe it, but when I opened the curtains today there it was. My first thought? Better get some photos to scrap! My second thought? How can I incorporate my first assignment for Painting with Light (PwL) into them!

So here's my first couple

Managed another LO for No Place Like Home - which I've unashamedly scraplifted from Shimelle.

Keeping Up

I think I either need to get into the habit of posting little and often, or just consign myself to doing one long post each week! Have been working on some No Place Like Home stuff - not much finished yet, but things in the pipeline. Really need to spend some time out around town getting some photos and tidying up the house to do some internal shots! Have also done a couple of LOs with more of the gorgeous Scarlet Lime kit - the first one of which is for UKS weekly challenge
I also got my hands on some stash that I had bought from A Million Little Things and had delivered to my SIL in the States and my MIL collected for me when she last visited. As you can see there's lots of alphas, which I was really missing from my stash collection.

Hopefully I'll have some more for you tomorrow!
