Days 15 - 17

... so I'm falling behind. I did these pages on Friday and haven't done anymore since. As we're off to Torquay tomorrow for Xmas, I'm going to try and get some more pages done tonight, so that I'm not too behind when we get back next Saturday (had contemplated taking scrapping studd with me, but doubt I will).

Day 15 - Shimelle's prompt - Guests. This short page documents how we aren't staying in Torquay for New Year as well as Xmas as has been the case for the past few years. Instead we will be back home and spending the evening with friends. Day 16 - Shimelle's prompt - Grateful. I'm going to add some more journalling to this page.
Day 17 - The girl's school/nursery Xmas parties

So that may be it now for a week. I wish you all a very glorious and merry Christmas. xxx

Days 9 - 14 ...

.. so I seem to be doing my pages in batches, which is actually working out quite well because it means that on days where there is nothing specific going on I can do whatever one of Shimelle's prompt takes my fancy. Excuse the flash on the photos.

Day 9 - Shimelle - wrapping paper (journalling in tag) Day 10 - Twas the night before Xmas - The School Play (DD1)
LHS
RHS
Day 11 - Shimelle - Traditions
Day 12 - still to be completed
Day 13 - I dream of a real tree
LHS
RHS
Day 14 - Family lunch

So I'm pretty much up to date. It's definitely been made easier with having premade pages this year, I can get a page done in 10 mins sometimes!

Days 6, 7 and 8 ...

So I've caught up to date (apart from todays).

Day 6 - A memory from spending Xmas in Canada in 1977 (I loved that outfit!) Day 7 - My shopping list, what's been bought and what's still to buy
Day 8 - Xmas sights. There's not much sign of Xmas in our house yet, so I've used some photos from flickr of typical Xmas images to me. I shall add some more photos to the reverse of the page protector that I'm going to take myself.

The countdown has begun ...

So I've made a start on my Xmas Journal. I'm not up to date, but I'm not worried about it!! I'm doing a combination of Ali Edwards' Daily Dairy and Shimelle's Journal Your Xmas. I'm using a Making Memories 6x9 album.

Day 1 - My Manifesto - which basically says to enjoy the journalling process in order to achieve a record of family memories. This is in a divided page protector. Reverse side - documents the UKS advent swap that I'm taking part in which a picture of my yummy parcel I received.
Day 2 - The Weather, which fitted Shimelle's prompt perfectly as some parts of the country did have snow, and we almost did - a 5 minute flurry!
Day 3 - Xmas Cards. Have used the reversed of Day 2 plus and envelope which holds one of DDs Xmas cards that she's produced as part of a school project.
Day 4 - Create for Xmas. This was a Ladies Craft evening event at my friends church. She asked me to help this year and so I made up minibook kits and on the night helped 40 ladies to make one from scratch. This page is on acetate.
Reverse side - showing the minibook kits.
Day 5 - Meeting Santa at the School Fair. This page consists of a flashcard with a photo on the reverse and an extra page for another photo plus journalling.
So just 3 more pages to catch up.
In other news:
  • We had a great time in London to see The Lion King and my little sister was thrilled with her album - made all the effort worth it to see her smile!
  • We've been without hot water for 10 days and central heating for 5, so haven't felt like doing much festive. It's now been fixed this morning, so am feeling a bit cheerier!
  • I won a prize on the Rough Draft blog - made my week. Can't wait to find out what I've won.

Just for me ...

.. it seems ages since I scrapped a LO that wasn't for someone else or part of a project, and so with my last two Scarlet Lime kits feeling neglected, I pulled this together. Really like those Sassafras Lass and Crate Paper papers.
And continuing my Shimelle scrapfest, Journal Your Christmas starts on on Monday (can't believe it's nearly December!) This is my second year for JYC and I'm going to do things slightly different this year. All my pages are ready made, so on the day I can just add a photo and some jounalling, I also want to use it to keep more of a dairy of December happenings! It's such a great way of capturing those precious memories and helps you really appreciate the Xmas Holidays without them flying past and wondering what happened!
