The Studio challenges ...

... there's been a few changes over at The Studio recently. They've got lots of great challenges and inspiration, so check it out.

It's been a while since I did a colour challenge so this was great fun (although I've no idea that blooger has done to the colours on my LO!!)

My first LO of Lord Mod (that's his kennel name!) I've used a B&W photo or though you wouldn't know it to help blend with the colours of the LO. I also did a rare bit of painting!

Edit: I've had a play around with the LO photo and now the colours are a bit more true to life.

12pm Cosmo Cricket Card Challenge..

... make a card using Cosmo Cricket products - simples!

10am challenge Pencil Lines ...

... I'm back!

So this challenge was to use this sketch.

I've used the lefthand side as inspiration, again using SL Frugal kit.

You can win a copy of the Pencil Lines sketch book by heading over to Anna Bowkis' blog to celebrate their 200th sketch.

The Studio Pre-Crop Challenge ...

... so the fun has begun, starting with a challenge set last night that I've managed to do this morning.

Create a layout with a framed title.
Using Scarlet Lime August Frugal kit.

And answer these questions:

- what's your name and where do you hail from?

I'm Fay! I was born and bred in Torquay, went to University in Bristol and now live in Leamington Spa.

- what's your favourite scrappy manufacturer?

I normally get my supplies from a US kit and so use a range of manufacturers, but I always like the papers from Cosmo Cricket. Recently I'm liking Lily Bee and Echo Park.

- what product do you find yourself using most?

Anything to do with butterflies!

- do you prefer to make your embellishments or buy readymade?

Again because of getting a kit I tend to use more ready made embellishments but I love making my own flowers

- have you even taken part in a cybercrop before?

Yes! Lots! The last one from The Studio, a couple of Shimelle's, Cocoa Daisy and various on UK Scrappers. I love the challenges and the whole team environment of them.

I'm just putting the finished touches to the next challenge and then have to help DH clear the garage - we're finally getting round to clearing out some junk!! I'll be back.

Struggling to scrap ....

... since the start of the new year, I've had very little inclination to scrap. I think it's due to being distracted by other crafts (such as making yo-yo brooches for the school's Mother's Day Present Room) but also by the fact that my Scarlet Lime kits have not been turning up in a timely fashion.December and January's kit had been sat untouched when February's turned up this week (along with a missing project kit). So I knew that unless I cut into it straight away I was in danger of having the kits pile up. So armed with a photo, challenge from The Studio and sketch from Studio Calico I got stuck in. The challenge was to create a LO about being a boy and what you might miss out on - the title reads Glad to be a Girl.
I've taken a close up of the journalling.
Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things now, I have a stack of photos waiting to be scrapped!

I fear ...

... I've combine the 1st of Jan challenges from The Studio and Stuck? Sketches for this one.

The Studio's challenge is to
- Make a page that includes a lot of “white space”.
- The subject of your page should be something that scares you; scrap your fears!
- Use 3 photos in the design of your page – but don’t forget that white space!

Another old kit, as still waiting for the postie to arrive!!

The Studio prizes ...

... completely forgot to share with you the fabulous prizes I won from The Studio's Charity Cybercrop. My favourite parcel was full of Prima embellies and stamps, I especially love the fabric flowers. And how I adore Cosmo Cricket!!!! Have managed a LO since my post earlier, so shall share that tomorrow.

Sunday afternoon ...

... here's what I did for the rest of the day!!

Sun 1pm - Twisted Sketches challenge - to use their sketch and a 'Count your blessings' theme
Sun 11am - Lisa's Rock Chick challenge. OK so I was a bit off the wall with this one as the challenge was to use Rock Chick as your theme and I've journalled about DD1's rock collection!!!!
Sun 5pm - Sketchy Thursday's Sketch challenge. I've added extra paint since I completed this LO as the photo didn't feel very anchored. Had to use water as the theme also.
Sun 7pm - Cathy Zielske set the grand finale challenge to scrap photos from one day. I've chosen to document our camping routine.

I completed 14 out of the 25 challenges, really happy with that. We can carry on uploading until 7pm tonight, but in reality I don't think I'll manage any more LOs. Really hope I manage to win a prize!
Now I need some new stash!

Sun 9am - to only journal with 6 words

Saturday ...

... just time for 1 LO before taking the girls to their swimming lesson

Sat 1am - to use bright colours on kraft. I also used the latest Sketchy Thursday sketch. After swimming and taking the girls to a friend's house for lunch I had a bit of time to do some catching up

Sat 11am - to scrap your favourite view. This is of the harbour where we stay when we go to Mallorce.
Sat 1pm - was a colour combo and sketch challenge.
Sat 3pm - to use what's on your desk. I choose to use up the contents of an almost finished Scarlet Lime kit.
I think that'll be me done for the day. Off out for drinks with the girls tonight, so hopefully I'll start afresh tomorrow morning (head permitting!!!)

Friday night ...

... so The Studio's charity crop started last night and here's a quick update of what I've been up to (sorry about the photos, they were taken last night)

7pm Challenge - to scrap vintage - I chose a old pre-school photo 9pm Challenge - to scrap with scallops
11pm challenge - to scrap a Halloween photo with non-Halloween products and to complete the LO in less than 30 mins
I finished scrapping and uploading at about 12am, which is way past my bedtime! The challenges continued to be posted every 2 hours through the night and I caught up with those this morning.

This weekend ...

... I will be hanging out at The Studio's Charity Crop in aid of charity:water - click the link for more details. Starting at 7pm tomorrow and lasting for 48 hours there will be games, challenges, prizes and special guests including Cathy Zielske who is setting the last challenge.

Last night I took part in one of the pre-crop challenges which was to create a LO in black and white, plus one other colour taken from your photo.

I was thrilled to find out this morning that I'd won the challenge!!

I created another PencilLines LO the other day aswell, using the photo that Audrey took of us at our Scarlet Lime Retreat. We're all holding LOs made with the September kit!!
