Introducing ....

Minty! Yes, that's right, Minty. Not Monty. So this is the story...
On Monday the owner calls me saying that the kitten is ready to leave (she's also rehoming the mum but can't do that until all the kittens have left, so she's keen). Bearing in mind the kitten is only 6 weeks old, I said that I would speak to my vet first and then let her know. After speaking to the vets on Tuesday, it's decided that we will pick the kitten up that day. The girls were sooooo excited!
After a couple of hours of being in the house I though I'd better just check it is a boy as expected, but on closer inspection and reference to the internet I'm sure he's a she! On further inspection I also realise the kitten is not the one I thought we were having (as in the picture below). So either I took a picture of the wrong kitten when we were choosing it and the owner genuinely missexed it, or the boy we chose has gone to another home!

Anyway we are all in love with Minty as she is now known and the vet check confirmed she is a girl. She is settling in really well (the other cats are not so taken with her!) and although tiny, she's a feisty one!

In the mood for scrapping ..

My Scarlet Lime August kit turned up on Thursday. When I first saw the sneek peeks last month I really wasn't sure about it, but in real life I actually like the colour combinations and I enjoyed putting these LOs together. The title for this one came from a challenge website (can't remember which one now!) and I remember thinking that would be a good title for a LO showing DD at the start and end of her Reception year.

I really enjoyed scrapping some photos that weren't part of a project and hope to do some more this weekend.

I have some kitten news, which I share with you either later or tomorrow.

Holiday Minibook

Finished the minibook today from our holiday. I did the basic construction before we went away and made notes whilst we were there, so it was quite easy to pull it all together. I've used KI Memories La Di Dah pp, stickers and alphas. There's a single LO for each day and a journaling card (which are actually pockets to store memorablia, but we didn't really collect much!!) Extra photos have been inserted throughout.

I've been given a lovely award from Paige. Go check out her blog, she's always upto different crafty things.
1. The winner can put the logo on her blog
2. Link the person you received the award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4. Put links of those blogs on yours
5. Leave a message on the girls blogs you have nominated

I'm going to pass this onto my UKS teamies Steph, Jackie, Pippa, Sally & Nicky (private blog)

Finally some scrapping ...

Although I haven't done much over the Summer Holidays, here's a couple of recent LOs, the first I did yesterday and the second one at the crop I went to a couple of weeks ago. Both are for my sister's album (hopefully I be able to do some of my girls soon!)

Close up:
I'm working on a mini album of our recent Welsh trip, so hopefully I'll be able to share that with you soon. I've also got round to putting a slideshow of my work back onto my blog (I lost the old one when I updated my blog design). I've put them into albums I'm currently working on, so will give me a good view of how I'm getting on with them. If you click on the pictures, it should take you into the album.

Kitten News - he now has a name - Monty - decided on by the girls, and I'm more than happy with it. Sarah asked if he was a Silver Tabby, he's not, but he's as close as a moggy can get to it I think!

A new addition ...

I promise to update with some scrapping stuff soon, but more excitingly look who's coming to live with us soon ....

He's only 4 weeks old, so will have to wait until Sept before we can bring him home - soooo cute, I can't wait.

He will be our 4th cat, so my husband has officially named me the 'Mad Cat Woman'. Just need to think of a cool name for him now, our others are called Pushkar, Padmina and Fitz-Henry (yes, yes I know!)

Ooooohhhhh I've done 100 posts!!!!

How exciting! I planned to tell you about my first crop that I went to on Saturday at Solihull Craft Club, but I just haven't the time. We're off in the next hour to Wales for a week. We had planned on camping, but DH is a bit of a fair weather camper, so we've got a last minute wooden lodge instead.

So will update when I'm back next week.

Something a bit different ....

It's the start of the UKS Summer Sultry Stash Bash - a complete surprise when I logged on this morning. Today's idea was to make a minibook, which suited me fine as I've felt over the last few days that I wanted to make something other than a LO. So here's my offering, have used MME Out & About 1 papers, which I've had for a while and really like, but wasn't sure how to use on a LO, so suited this little book perfectly.

I've still to add photos and embellies, I have a person's birthday present in mind, so I'll have to pull some photos together for it.

In other news, today's My Freedom blog prompt asked if I prefered to scrap with a single photo or a group of photos. Well, I find it easier to scrap with one photo, I think it opens up the design more, but sometimes you need more than one photo to tell the story. I often turn to a sketch to help me layout multiple photos. Here's some of my recent favourites.

It's the final week of My Freedom, that was over quickly! I'm about a week behind, but am going to my first ever all day crop on Saturday so plan to do a bit of a catch up then.
