Growing up ...

... I know as parents we say it all the time about how fast our children are growing up, but I look at these photos and feel slightly overwhlemed by how quickly that actually is!

Most of the elements for this page came from a printed page that was included in the kit, a really useful addition. It's all straight in real life but some reason the photo makes it look really wonky!!

Life in 2013 ...

... so this is the first LO I made with the Scrapagogo kit. I like to do pages every now and again with what's happening in my life, so that seemed to be a good place to start with the kit.

I added some washi and bakers twines, plus a couple of extra buttons.

Cards and kits ...

... so having organised my albums, I moved on to sorting out paper and stripping uot old kits. Before discarding the last contents of a kit I am challenging myself to make some cards. So here are my first lot. I'm going to add sentiments as and when.

And of course, destashing means you can buy more! So I decided to try a Scrapagogo kit which arrived this morning. First impressions are good, 4 pieces of paper, 2 cardstock, a stamp, a printable and assorted embellies - just enough to make a few LOs without having loads left over. It's very similiar in colour to an old Scrapbook Circle kit that I have, so I shall probably combine the two.

Shopping and scrapping ...

... January week 3 challenge over on UKS was to use a sketch, add some ink/paint, some stitching and a quote. I decided not to do the quote and chose this photo I took at 12:12 on 12/12/12.

I had the day off work today and after a mammoth album sort out at the weekend I needed some supplies so headed off to TK Maxx and The Range. I got what I needed, plus more of course!

Now I've moved onto stripping out old kits and purging lots of stash.

Class of 2012 ...

... ooh I scrapped!! Have joined a lovely team over on UK Scrappers with the hopes of being more creative. It's been a long time since I was part of the community over there and I think it will do me some good.

So no time like the present I've had a go at the January House challenge, which is a sketch, always good for easy scrapping.

I still have about 4 or 5 completely untouched Scrapbook Circle kits, so it was great to dig into one.

Last day at Infants for Mia and she had such a fab teacher in Year 2 that the parents wanted to make a fuss of him. So we put together a video of all the kids talking about their year and then played it to him inn the school hall on the last day.

Am in the middle of making a birthday party cake for Lily. She turned 10 last week - OMG! We had a quiet day at home and then went off to Centerparcs with my folks for the weekend. Her party with schoolfriends is tomorrow. I'll then have a photo order of about 250 prints to put in, so that should keep me busy for a while.

10 things: 2013 to-dos ....

... so although I don't make resolutions you can't help but think of a new year as a new page and the things you want to achieve. So here, in no particular order, are my thoughts:

1. Get back to my target weight, so that means 10 pounds to lose.
2. Be more active. I'm not sure that this looks like yet and I need to give it more thought.
3. Create more and with that in mind I have rejoined a group over on UKS.
4. Finish my blanket started back in November 2011.
5. Aleida's Challenge - I'm quite good at taking pictures of myself with the girls, but more is always good!
6. Write more letters, inspired by Emilie's post here.
7. Decide on Lily's secondary school - am sticking my head in the sand over this at the moment, but come the Summer I will start to face this reality.
8. Give the house some attention, it really is looking tired and needs freshening up.
9. Fiance audit and overhaul.
10. Keep a daily journal.

So enough to keep me busy!

New beginnings ...

.... Happy new year! Hope it's a good one for you all.

So a new year means new projects right? And with a lazy day ahead of us I decided to make a start on a floor cushion for Lily's room. I bought a jelly roll a year ago with the intentions of making a circular cushion I'd seen. Instead for simplicity I'm going for a log cabin (?) style.

Let's hope this is the start of lots of making this year.
